What do I think of the Indian media?

In corporate greed, India, Musings, Politics, South Asia on November 25, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Well … I wouldn’t even piss on it, if it was on fire !

(courtesy: A gentleman we bumped into at our favourite watering-hole in Delft who described the city of his birth, Southampton, in such glowing terms!)

[Update: And here’s another reason why? ]

  1. Right on guru! And more infuriating are Barkha’s shameless attempts at defending her position through her twitter comments. Outlook/Open/Hindu should have called them “pimps” instead of “lobbyists”!

    • Absolutely agree with you! Don’t even know where to begin with these nutwits! As I said somewhere else, if all we have is a choice between watching barkha dutt, sardesai, sagarika ghose, shekhar gupta and arnab go(away)swami on national TV, then i’d much rather get a tooth pulled.
      And the really sad thing is that just when we need the media to report on the real mess, e.g., 2G, Adarsh, CWG , we find that they’ve been in bed with these morons all along.
      The only positive I can see is the relentless pressure from social media to restore some semblance of accountability. But alas thats too fickle!

  2. सुर्ख़ियों में रहनें के लिए,
    जो खुद से बेहाल हुए;
    उनकी क्या बात करें,
    जो आदत से लाचार हुए|
    लफ्ज़ ज़ुबान पे आता नहीं,
    ऐसों की क्या बात करें;
    ख़ुदग़र्ज़ समा का क्या कहना,
    जब देश तके कि कहाँ मरें|
